Risen is like a new hope, after Gothic 3 was not welcomed well by the fans, Risen was the new game made by Piranha Bites, because they have lost the Gothic licence.
However, Risen is much more like a gothic 3, than Gothic 3 should have been, we have again a graphic and level design with good taste, characters, dialogues and a sky..
A beautiful sky, and the feeling that you are playing something like Gothic.
The only bad part is the dialogues are speaked with some British accent, also the main character and that ruins a little the world feeling. Is not Gothic, but is something very similar, even some quests can be found in Risen, who were taken from Gothic 2, for example the cropping of a grain field.
We also have a swamp, like we had in Gothic 1.
Enough, about the graphics, they are very good, not technological maybe, but like I said with a fine taste, the game can run even on not high end computers like mine (gforce 8500 GT which is pretty old by now).
As a tip, run the game with full – medium details in 800/600 if you cannot run it in 1280. You will experience some amazing feelings, like the sun beams, .. try to look at the sky. It feels real, like the landscapes of the game were taken from a mountain untouched by mankind.
I fully recommend it, it is like a new hope of rpg with fine taste.

A game supervised by Peter Molyneux who also was involved in Black and White. So you can espect to play an rpg not so convetional.
Fable the lost chapters was not conventional, you start as a kid, and as the story goes on your character grows and becomess mature. There actually the game begins, the side when you are kid is a good escuse to explain and get used to the game.
Your character can become good or evil, by killing innocent people or just helping them.
You can even grow hornes or a white angel circle upon your head.
The game battle system is however an arcade one, choping the enemies by clicking fast. The story is interesting and very beautiful, your character needs to defeat a certain enemy that killed his parrents when he was little.
A big clisee, but told in a funny way, it’s just not bad.
Actually the game tends to be comic all the time.
It is a game made with very good taste that you wont want to miss.
Icewind Dale 2 was created by Black Isle, and its a classic Dungeon and Dragons game in a fantasy world.
The player can pick at the beggining his party made by 6 characters, usually two melee or three, one healer, and one or two casters.
You can also pick the standard d&d things like character’s good or bad personality, lawful good, chaotic evil, etc.
Seems that a certain part of the game’s world is attacked by goblins who seems to have a strategy (goblins usually lacks of brains) so something must be behind this.
Some mercenaries arrive in this city who is under siege to join their swords in a mission to defend and push the goblins invadors away.
After defeating the goblins our heroes are sent forward to investigate who is behind all this madness. So the story takes our heroes through dungeons and basically frozen lands.
The graphic is 2D, not bad, but not good either.
It is a great game for D&D fans.

Is the newest game from the series and sadly is the last becouse Piranha Bites lost the licence to create games under the Gothic franchise.
Gothic 3 came out with a new graphic engine more capable, creating a world of beauty, realistic water, incredible landscapes. But somewhere in the level design was lost. And that thing was actually the spice that made Gothic 1 and 2 one of the best rpg games.
The story lost its epic sense in this large world that player had to discover. Gothic 3 world is about 20 times larger than the world from Gothic 2 for example, and that is not such a good thing. Making smaller worlds, can be a good thing becouse of high detail attention that a larger world lacks.
After playing about 40 hours I lost all motivation, and the happyness that I am playing a new Gothic game vanished.
This game lacks many things that made Gothic 1 and 2 succes.
It is however a good game that should be tried by fans.

Bioware extended their rpg universes to a more exotic one, casting a japanese story in ancient times. Jade Empire can be resembled with Kotor, but in different environments.
We have here some asian students who are learning to fight in a temple, as a player you can pick from 3 girls and 3 male characters.
The females looks great, so it wont be a bad pick. The fighting style is weird, you got a sword and it is very hard to control it. And some magic moves. The free movement is nowhere to be found. You can walk with limitation, some areas have invisible walls.
The game is played like a movie, no interactivity, no free runnings there and there. Is kinda similar with final fantasy, only here we don`t have those cool cutscenes, characters or story.
An interesting game with incredible good graphics, but some things are missing.

Night of the Raven was a so called expansion for Gothic 2, but what some players that never tried this game is that there are few new things.
New things: music is changed, new npc, new quests, a new island that didn`t existed in the original Gothic 2. The difficulty of the game has been adjusted making Gothic 2 Night of the Raven much much harder than the original one.
The new island is beautiful designed, forget about the gothic arhitecture, huts, clifs from the first 2 gothic games, on that island there is sand, sea and sun, an exotic environment. Also a swamp, and some ancient areas.
You will meet even more characters from Gothic 1 in this island like some of the Blue Mages from the New camp.
A good experience, and a fresh air if you want to replay Gothic 2 and play even some new things.

Is one of the oldest games made by Black Isle.
It is a post apocaliptic game that puts the player in the role of the human savior.
The game has however some things that will keep away the today players.. the graphics are lacking any sign of taste, there is no level design, just some plain areas with few colours.
Then the turn base system. It is very slow. Then also the difficulty of the game, is really hard and you can die anytime, even after 5 minutes of playing.
The things that is shining here are the story, npcs, dialogues.
Fallout has a huge number of items, skills, you will get lost for sure the first time you are trying to play.
I won`t recomend this game, but some players might consider it one of the best, so you should try it at least.

A turn based rpg, or at least the fighting style is. Based on the Star Wars universe, this game was created by Bioware and received good feedback.
Everything had a good quality, graphics, gameplay, etc.
The lightsabers are there, you can turn to the dark side or light side depending on you actions in the game.
This could have been the thing that spiced up the game, was very interesting to play half of the game good, then make a decition and kill someone and all the blood was begun to pump for the dark side.
You will be able to lead 3 characters at once, choose if all 3 to use lighsabers or just use plasma guns.
All the characters from the Star wars movies are missing however, yoda is present there but under other name.
A good experience.

Was the sequel of the first game, after our hero frees everyone from the magic barrier, he is teleportd by Xardas in his tower having his powers diminished to .. level 1.
Its a good thing, becouse we have ahead a new Gothic experience.
The world is about 3 times bigger that it was in the first Gothic.
You can even visit the old areas from Gothic 1, but this time be more prepared, things there are going crazy, the old camp is under siege by the orcs who are camping just near it, you will need to find a way to sneak in at a certain momment.
The graphics are quite the same with some minor improvments, but it doesn`t really matter, gothic is about feeling and Gothic 2 recreates perfect the athmosphere from the first one.
An action rpg that should not be missed.

Having a sweet name and chilling, neverwinter nights was developed by Bioware and it is a classic D&D game. Is using 3D technology but the game was meant to be a point > click > move.
The good thing is that apart from the old d&d games, you can control a maximum of 2 characters, from wich one is a mercenary that will follow you and just fight whatever you are fighting.
Being a beginner back then I remember I picked a night elf paladin and a orc human barbarian. A very bad combo, becouse the elf had very few hitpoints and having both melee fighters wasn`t that good.
You can pick better a ranged and a melee, or two melees, but make sure one is a human or dwarf, they will need lots of hp.
The game can also be played in cooperative in multiplayer, it is very fun to play with your friends in this game.
The story is not so bright but isn`t that bad either.
The reason that neverwinter nights was good quality of this game that bioware created.
